However, the main reason people visit the resort is to take advantage of the skiing; located at the base of Rendezvous Mountain, the resort offers prime access to 2,500 acres of ski runs and 4,139 feet of vertical drop. And with an annual average of 400 inches of snowfall, it's no wonder why recent visitors are saying that this is the best ski area in the country.
Skiing is NOT the only activity here. Once the runs close for the day, you can spend the evenings enjoying a horse-drawn sleigh ride. During the summertime, the resort offers visitors numerous opportunities to hike and mountain bike. Many visitors also say that a ride on the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram is a must, no matter the season. The tram runs to the top of Rendezvous Mountain, allowing for breathtaking views of the Teton Mountains. Be sure to look for the discount coupons in the local Jackson Hole newspaper.
The lifts are open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between late November and early April. Although you do NOT have to pay to explore the resort, lift tickets cost about $95 a day, depending on the month. The Jackson Hole Aerial Tram is open from 9 a.m. to either 5 or 6 p.m., and tickets cost around $25 for adults (hours and rates vary by season).
